Strains
Strains occur when muscles get stretched too far. Strains occur most commonly in the back, neck and legs. Pain may begin immediately or several hours after the injury occur. The area will be tender and swollen and may be bruised. The first thing to do if you experience a strain is to stop using that part of the body. Rest and acetaminophen or ibuprofen for the pain is the best medicine for your strain.
